Billy Joe never got his propers..
Several years before my dad passed (at 92) he told me about this album and had me order it for him. He loved it. He's now resting at Arlington. Miss you dad.
Why is this not on the album on Spotify
Bad Ass Kickin Country!!!!!
😅
Ain't nothing better than hank from the good old days
I wish I could find this album.
Inspired instrumentation perfectly complements Larry warm vocals. I dig this.
Country Music's first million seller. Great album!
Best voices in Country and Bluegrass music genre's .
This is so so funny ❤
2024 Yes, it is still magnificent. Love it.
Would love if they had this little gem on Spotify. What a great song!
Good but no TJW imho
Back in 1982, my dad bought a boat where the previous owner had left this album in the 8 track tape player. I don't think we ever played any other albums. Lots of smiles and dancing around when T for Texas came on. This song will always remind me of happy, sunny days on the Illinois river by Peoria with my dad.
Time waits for no one, eh? Cherish every moment,
These old dogs, this old dog(,65) Can still bury the bone,eh, I'm bit slow, I just found part 2, thanks RUclips
They don't write songs like this anymore. So Sad😮
It may not have been about Hank Sr., but every line applies if you listen closely to the lyrics.
Thanks for posting this wonderful Steve Young song.
We’re dying from the day were born
Where have I been??
A long way to Hollywood oh my favorite song out this album and I think it was 1977 when it came while I was in Alaska. I love this album and we got tickets to go see him and he stood me up twice and I was pissed at him for 20 years. Plus he’s still a good singer and I forgive him God bless him he still with us.
Waylon was a top notch harmony singer. Guy was a master songsmith.
I donde vive lencho en las vegas en co, en NY ,o ban a tener fee
Reality check from the old dogs, damnit boys! 😢
Jimmy Rips
I loved it originally & re-discovered it on a 45 RPM at a flea market in Galveston some years back.
This Was One of My Dad's Favorite Songs,I Thinks of Him Now , When I Hear This
Love Dave Alvin, great story teller and guitarist
My grandmother LOVED this song and we'd both get a kick out of it every time she played it! Thanks for the memories, Grammy!
Viekää minut baariin veljet..❤ Pekka Myllykoski R.I.P.
This is so great, Waylon among his other talents was one of the greatest harmony singers going.
Faded jaded falling cowboy star Pawnshops itching for your old guitar Where you're going, God only knows The sequins have fallen from your clothes Once you heard the Opry crowd applaud Now you're hanging out at Fourth and Broad On the rain wet sidewalk remembering the time When coffee with a friend was still a dime And everything's been sold American The early times is finished and the want ads all are read Everyone's been sold American In dreaming dreams in a roll away bed Writing down your memoirs on some window in the frost Roulette eyes reflecting another morning lost Hauled in by the metro for killing time and pain With a singing brakeman screaming through your veins And everything's been sold American The lonely night is mourning for the death it never dies Everyone's been sold American Don't let me catch you laughing when the jukebox cries You told me, you were born so much higher than life But I've seen the faded pictures of your children and your wife Now they're fumbling through your wallet And they're trying to find your name It's almost like they raise the price of fame And everything's been sold American No place to go and brother, no place to stay Everyone's been sold American Just let that golden Greyhound roll your soul away Could that be the best song the Kinkster wrote? Think so.
Classic!!!!
One bad motha

Just heard this today. Love it. Rest in peace sweetie & thank you. 💞🌹
Damn good one
Best version to me.
When I saw this movie and listened to this song I was so proud of Waylon! Then found out he didn’t release it, I started playing and sharing like crazy so my Waylon fans could hear!
R.I.P. BILLY JOE
Love Waylon Jennings, just recently found songs of his I had never heard before, so good.
I Love it when they hit the rotation with the 88s and the organ.
Why in the black hell is this not on spotify.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Holy crap! Here I stand, a self-ordained expert on all things Waylon, yet I'd never heard "Rough" until Dallas Wayne played it on Willie's Roadhouse two days ago. I know I'm late jumping in this thread, but thank you katson6 for posting it to RUclips.
The same happened to me today … I was like I never heard this lmao
